Scheepjes is a famous dutch wool brand that was originally started back in the 1800’s. At its height in 1962 the company had 900 employees. As the economic climate changed and wages increased in The Netherlands, where Scheepjes is made, the company was forced to close their doors. In 2010 a family owned business located in Tynaarlo, Drenthe took over the Scheepjeswol brand name and brought it back to life. It is now a very popular brand known for its quality and beautiful cake yarn, Scheepjes Whirl.
