Sturdy frame loom great for beginner weaving
I opted to buy the larger size Ashford frame loom to see how much I like weaving at home before investing in a more expensive rigid heddle loom. I'm very happy I bought this! It is a great intro loom. It's easy to put together and very sturdy. I also bought a couple pick up sticks to use as sheds and have made my own basic heddle with a dowel and string. It's working beautifully! Hard to tell from the pictures, but the way the wood is cut where the warp thread wraps the frame is very clever: grooves to separate the warp thread so you can get two passes of warp thread in each slot, and a ridge to prevent the warp thread from popping off under tension.
