This made the most perfect rainbow hats. The colours are vibrant and I didn't have to make a million joins per row.

Tricky to figure out but looks nice

Posted by Bee on 2018 Oct 31st

I started and frogged a hat 6 times before settling on a simple 2x2 rib. The yarn has no stretch so it needed the stretchiness of a simple rib pattern to work. It doesn't do a perfect rainbow stripe as is. It goes red, orange, yellow, green, back to yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, back to purple, red, orange, etc. So to get a perfect rainbow, knit to the middle of the blue-green colour, cut them wind it and cut again in the middle of the pure blue colour. Then restart your knitting starting with the blue you just finished winding. Everyone in the house loves our Pride hats!
